1. Christmas Sweater

Why a Christmas sweater makes you look older: Who doesn't have an embellished Christmas sweater or vest lurking in the back of her closet? The kids — and grandkids – love us in these sweaters. But, as in-demand as the family makes these, no middle-aged woman ever looked younger wearing an embellished Christmas sweater. If you don't mind going granny for the holidays, then don away.

Another option is to dress festive in an outfit sans gingerbread men and candy cane motifs. A solid red sweater brings the cheer without the aging effects of the embellished Christmas sweater.
