Choose the right clothing for your body shape and you'll look better: just see how it works for Christina Hendricks.

When you start to choose clothing for your body shape — not just for trends or designers — you will see a huge difference in the way you look.

If you happen to have a top-heavy figure (like Christina Hendricks), it's even more important to dress for your body type.

For many top-heavy women, it also means they look short-waisted, thanks to a heavier bust. So the goal of choosing the right clothing is to give this type of figrue a more proportional look.

The good news is that something as simple as the right neckline can make all the difference with a top-heavy figure. The goal is to open up the neckline and give the torso an elongated look.

In Christina's example, you can see how the V-neck shape (universally flattering on all body types!) and square neck (you might not want to show that much cleavage, though) open up the neckline and give her a balanced look.

Her top and bottom halves look more in proportion. And the waist looks tiny.

In contrast, look at how a completely covered up bodice looks on Christina: the mock neck silhouette is not flattering at all on the redhead. Even though she is doing lots of things right — like wearing a knockout color and a monochromatic look — that high neckline is not flattering for her busty figure.
