Unwanted hair? From shaving soap to oil to cream, shaving products have come a long way.

If we must shave, we may as well make it a beauty "experience." We've all had the desire to get rid of unwanted hair and most of us have tried and tested an endless array of shaving products. When did women begin shaving in the first place?

Style Goes Strong colleague and self-styled HistoryChiQ, Gerit Quealy, explains. "It was perfectly OK to have Hobbit legs until about the beginning of the 20th century. Then suddenly underarm hair was a no-go! What changed? Fashion. Sleeveless dresses became the rage as the Roaring '20s approached and then skirts started going up."

Quealy adds, "Razors and depilatories began being offered in the Sears & Roebuck catalog about 1922. And marketers declared no more hair on women's bodies. It helped that indoor plumbing became more and more widespread, as well as better hygiene habits. And we didn't necessarily need a layer of "fur" to keep us warm."

Times have certainly changed! From shaving cream to shaving soap to shaving oil, here's a round-up of some of the latest products available to help keep us silky smooth and hair-free.

Shaving Oil

New Somersets Shaving Oils for Women yield up to a month of shaves in one 15 ml bottle. Just four to five drops per leg enables women to get a close, smooth shave without nicks, cuts or razor burn.

Somersets Shaving Oils are formulated with a proprietary blend of organic essential oils such as lavender, tea tree and rosemary. These oils help to create a lubricating barrier between the skin and the razor, providing more glide for a truly comfortable shave. In a pinch, Somersets Shaving Oils can be used without water!

Somersets Shaving Oils for Women is available online at www.somersets.com and www.drugstore.com.

Shaving Cream and Foam

Alba Botanica makes natural, 100% vegetarian personal care products without parabens, sulfates, or phthalates. They make maximum use of ingredients from Earth's plant sources…from rich vegetable and nut oils to pure plant waxes to herbal extracts, and pure essential oils. The company's products are not tested on animals.

Alba Botanica offers a number of shaving solutions, including Natural Hawaiian Cream Shave with Nourishing Coconut Milk, Natural Very Emollient Foam Shave and Natural Very Emollient Cream Shave.

Shaving Soap

Smith Family Soapworks on Etsy offers olive oil based shaving soap. It has a great lather and excellent "slip" so the razor glides easily on skin. They also provide a step by step guide if you're not sure how to use shaving soap.

The shaving soap comes in an amber plastic jar with a waterproof label so it always looks neat and tidy. Available in Pomegranate, Lavender, Basil Lime, Lime and Sandalwood.

No offense, but imho pulsed light are much more effective, sure it's not cheap such as all creams and shave oils....but believe me it's worth it. Here are other advices about the argument: http://beautyandcolor.com/skincare/
