Need fashion advice for pulling off cleavage over 40?
When it comes to fashion ideas for over 40 & fabulous the cleavage question comes up quite a lot (as well as which styles to wear are still OK.)
First, many women our age wonder if it's still OK to show cleavage.
That's a difficult fashion question to give a blanket answer: there are so many different body types, lifestyles and attitudes out there that it's not easy to say one-size-fits-all for the cleavage question.
Just take a look at Susan Sarandon: the 66-year-old has no problem showing all sorts of cleavage (from moderate to extreme.)
And she looks pretty terriffic still.
But would you feel comfortable letting that much hang out? Probably not.
So, when the cleavage question comes up — as it usually does over 40 — the best fashion advice I can give you is "Try it in moderation."
And that's only if your skin is still relatively smooth and firm. If you have a really wrinkled decolletage you might be better off trying a bodice with some sheer inserts or lace panels for some coverage. You'll still give a sexy peek of cleavage, but be covered up for the most part.
