Twain is performing again after eight years of silence with a new show in Las Vegas. Check out her amazing figure (left) in one of her signature, über-sleek black body stockings with light-reflecting beads and sequins. See the tasteful hints of skin underneath? Wow.
Five years her junior is Jennifer Lopez, who is wrapping up a tour in this, a nude, all body suit (right) that I haven't been able to escape during months and months of photo research.
I've tried. This suit just keeps popping up.
What utterly baffles me is who convinced Lopez that this of all body stockings flatters her?
It pains me to think that even with an army of stylists, an extensive design team and the busloads of creatives on world tour with her – and my goodness but Lopez designs a line of clothing – that someone doesn't tell her (in her own words from her days as a judge on American Idol): 'Baby, it's not such a flattering choice for you. I'm sorry baby.'
Who decided that a sunray of beads beginning at Lopez's navel and then spreading out across her thighs and derriere would do anything but augment that area significantly?
She's a beautiful creature. Fit and toned. But this full body suit does her no justice on those fronts.
Perhaps we'll let Twain's lyrics have the final word: that don't impress me much.
