Felicity Huffman isn't a desperate anything.

Cool, calm and collected, the actress who stars in "Desperate Housewives" is happy to share how at age 48, she juggles a series, a family and looking good on high definition TV, which shows everything.

"Let's start with the HD TV," she jokes. "I run. I have a trainer I refuse not to eat and I eat quite a bit. I'm not someone who likes to deny herself."

Ask for her beauty secrets and she says to ask another housewife. "What did Teri Hatcher say?" she poses with a laugh.

Sorry, Felicity, that's a separate column.

So, it might take a little begging on a day when she calls in from the "Housewives" set. "Over 45. Get out the tub of moisturizer!" she jokes. "You know when you need to moisturize? It's when your skin just sucks the product in. That's your skin's way of saying, 'Thank you. More please!'"

"On days when you can, don't wear any makeup. Just let your skin breathe," she says.

MUCH MUCH MORE

The friendly mom of two plays Lynette Scavo on the hit ABC series "Desperate Housewives." She has also starred in films including "Georgia Rule" with Jane Fonda and the gender bending "Transamerica" where she played a man longing to becoming a woman.

Driven? You bet. Felicity has also completed several classic triathlons, coming in under 1 hour and 47 minutes. "My husband Bill Macy keeps me going and motivated," says Felicity who says her workout regime also includes skiing, hiking, playing tennis, and running after kids.

"I think keeping active is what keeps us young," she says. "Many people say I can't do it, but what if you thought, 'I can try.'"

A LOVELY LOVE STORY

She met husband William H. Macy when she was one of his students at the Atlantic Theater Company. They've been married since 1997 and they're the parents of two kids, Sofia Grace, 10 and Georgia Grace, 9.

"I'm just a lucky girl," she says. "Bill is just a wonderful guy. The best thing I ever did in my life was to marry him."

She doesn't mind telling their real life love story.

"We did meet at the Atlantic Theater Company and it was love at first sight for me," she says with a little sigh – even after all of these years. "I think I had to talk him into it for awhile. I went on a campaign."

She laughs.

"He was certainly worth it," she says.

She says juggling work and kids isn't easy. "I don't know how we do it," she muses. "I do feel like I'm failing every single day on every front. You just move through guilt and failure as a working mom. It's crushing.

"For a long time, people asked me how I felt about Linette on 'Desperate Housewives' going back to work," she poses. "I thought it was fantastic.

"I read a poll once that 87 percent of working moms feel guilty with part time jobs. I wonder what percent of men feel guilty?" she poses.

"What helps me is I just figure there is time for work and time for children. Plus, my husband and I trade off when it comes to the kids if we're working."

Huffman says she can't wait for another season of "Desperate Housewives." "I love doing TV," she says. "It's not like I ever say, 'Huh, I only get TV.' I love everything about it."

"Lucky girl," she repeats.
