My interview with a vampire took place about a week ago in Los Angeles.

That's when I sat down alone at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills with Hollywood's heartthrob du jour, Robert Pattinson.  Of course, he is that sexy Brit with the windblown hair who plays sexy vampire Edward Cullen in those "Twilight" films that your kids and grandkids won't stop talking about at the dinner table.

I'm happy to report that Pattinson is a delight in person, an earnest young man who says that the fame he has found "is like going through a maze being propelled by jet fuel."

In person, he giggles, sips tea and blushes when you ask him about his honeymoon scene in the new film "Breaking Dawn - Part 1."

"It's tough to kiss and hug on screen with a movie crew watching. A fellow gets a little shy," he says with a laugh.

Equally lovely is his screen co-star Kristen Stewart who plays the human Bella in the franchise. She giggled while talking about her big screen wedding in the new film.I felt like I needed to stop running down the aisle, breathe and enjoy it. I was just really nervous"

As Midlifers, it's best to just breathe and enjoy the "Twilight" phenomenon.

Since I've covered these movies for years and interviewed these young stars countless times, I wanted to provide you with a little primer.

Here's How to Talk Twilight to Your Kids and Grandkids. Believe me, you will get so many coolness points here, it will be off the charts!

*Commit to Team Edward or Team Jacob. In a nutshell, human Bella (Stewart) is in love with 108-year-old vampire Edward Cullen (Pattinson). A cute teen werewolf/human Jacob (Taylor Lautner) is in love with Bella. Welcome to their fanged, hairy, tearful love triangle. Most teen girls have already committed to either Edward or Bella.

Twi Speak: Tell your teen, "I'm team Edward." (He is the safe choice because Bella ends up with him.)

*Mention that Edward Has Self Esteem Issues. Edward is uneasy with his vampire status. "He's filled with self-loathing because we learn in the new movie that as a young vampire, he was a bit violent," Pattinson says.

Twi Speak: Tell your grandkids, "I can't wait to see what Edward did when he was 'turned.' I heard it was pretty grisly. It really shows that you can overcome some past mistakes."

*Know What It Means to Be "Turned." In this franchise, the Cullen family are vegan vampires – please stop laughing – and don't drink human blood. They don't really want to turn people into vampires unless they're dying and that's the only way to give them immortality. In the new film, Edward must turn Bella. "He's losing the love of his life and has to bite her," Pattinson says. "During the scene, I was really biting a dummy and not Kristen."

Twi Speak: "I wonder how they'll handle the scene where Bella is turned?"

*Mention the Birth Scene in "Breaking Dawn." Edward and Bella marry in the new film …and soon baby will make three. Except this will be a half human, half vampire child. The birth scene isn't for the faint of heart. Pattinson says, "It was surreal because finally I was holding a real three month old infant who was covered in jelly and cream cheese to look like she was just born."

Twi-Speak: Tell your kids, "I read that Kristen Stewart couldn't wait to get the birth scene over with because it was such an emotional moment for her."

*Drop a Fabulous Detail. The kids won't know that "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer (whose dream about vampire love led to the series) is actually one of the guests in the wedding scene.

Twi-Speak: "Don't forget to look closely for a brown haired woman in the crowd who doesn't have crazy vampire eyes. That's the author of Twilight.'" Mention to the kids that her other book "The Host" is being turned into a film, too. Extra coolness points!

*Look to the Future. There's nothing like planning ahead.

Twi-Speak: Tell your grandkids, "I bet you can't wait until 'Breaking Dawn – Part 2' is released next year. It's sort of sad. What will we do when the franchise is over? Will life ever return to normal?"

When reading the book, this part is the one I hate the most. SOBBED seymlf to sleep like I was a child. Think I might have had the sup sups too. Bringing the kleenex with me for sure. I don't even want to think about it. I've felt the tears creep up a few times with just the previews. I can't deal with it and yes, it's a book, but it's very moving and sad. OMG.. please tell me they show Edward hiding her stuff under the floor boards.. JERK!! LOL.
