I am the queen of multitasking, doing things like answering emails while I walk for exercise or chatting on the phone while folding laundry. You're a woman, you know how it is.

My love of multitasking leads me to products that help me do more with less. So the infinity scarf (also called the eternity, circle or loop scarf) is my kind of multitasking accessory. It's basically a knit circle scarf that can be worn many different ways. The beauty of the infinity/circle scarf is that you don't have to mess with the ends (something that always secretly drives me a little nuts with traditional scarves.)

Here are some of the ways to wear the infinity scarf:

  • Cowl. If the infinity scarf isn't too large, it looks just fine worn as a loose cowl neck. Just slide it over your head and go. Shorter, chunkier infinity scarves are often worn just this way because they are too short to wear in some other variations. For really long infinity scarves, you may need to loop the scarf twice to get a decent size cowl (I think it looks right at or right above the bustline worn as a cowl.) If it's a longer infinity scarf, loop it twice to make it look right as a cowl.
  • Turtleneck. Make several loops to give the scarf more of a turtleneck look, fitted to your neck.
  • Hood. Place it around your head, then twist and loop it back over your head for a headscarf/neckscarf variation that is insanely chic.
  • Shawl. For larger/longer infinity scarves, you can wear it on your shoulders like a traditional shawl. You can also get creative and wear it on one shoulder, then wear the other side draped down.

A few things to remember with the infinity scarf:

  • Place the seam at the back so it won't show.
  • Lightweight scarves will give you more options, while thicker chunkier scarves will be more difficult to manipulate into different shapes.
  • Once you wrap your scarf and have the shape you want, make sure you pull or fluff the scarf sides out so it gives it more of a continuous full look.

Are you more of a visual learner? Here's a step-by-step video that shows you how to wear the infinity scarf.

Thanks for the great idea, however when making a demonstration video of your work, please try using bright colored fabrics rather than dark. The dark color made this very difficult to follow.
