Have you seen recent Kim Kardashian outfits like the half tucked-in shirt or the trashbag-train mini?
I think Kim Kardashian's style looks worse with Kanye picking clothes for her.
There: I said it.
Although Kanye is known in fashion circles for being a style maven, his rumored control of how girlfriend Kim Kardashian's wardrobe seems to have backfired.
She's been turning up in ill-fitting leather leggings, see-through blouses (which she wore to the Middle East, no less) and strange concoctions like this trashbag train mini pictured (left.)
Now, Kim's not exactly revered by fashion types as being the classiest dresser, but at least she wasn't offensive. The problem that Kim faces is that most of the time her curves compete with her outfit.
Other voluptuous celebs like Sofia Vergara have learned to just dress for their bodies, instead of trying to serve fashion. Kim hasn't learned that lesson yet.
But back to Kanye and his makeover. Not long ago I asked my personal Facebook friends if their significant others dressed them.
Here are some of my responses:
- "I ask for a second opinion."
- "He barely picks out his own clothes well, so, no way."
- "No…he does however say 'yes' – usually without looking – if I ask if a particular outfit looks ok."
- "Oh, I can only imagine what he'd pick for me…I'm sure I'd look like a hooker."
OK, aside from having very funny friends, I found – with only one exception – that most of the women I know pick out their own clothes.
