"Dancing with the Stars" beauty Kym Johnson doesn't exactly need to worry about burning calories.
She does that daily training her partner Joey Fatone in grueling rehearsals.
"Obviously, dancing is what I do for my workout, but you can always learn a new fitness routine," she says.
"I want to feel it in my butt and thighs. I love when after a workout your can really feel like you did something," says the native of Australia.
To wit: Her new show on the BeFit You Tube channel is called "StarFit." Stars and their celeb trainers get you sweating by sharing their fitness routines.
"It's great for me to do the show because I get to learn all of these different forms of fitness and what all the stars do," says Johnson, a two-time "Dancing with the Stars" champ who won with Donny Osmond and Hines Ward.
As a midlifer about to get married, I asked Kym for her best fitness tips:
*Try Other Types of Workouts.
"I actually did the post baby workout. It has to do with your core," Kym says. "You're working on your legs and doing a crunch with a kettle ball, so you really engage your core."
"Keep an open mind and try other workouts to see what you like to do. If you like it, you'll do it," she says. "I like anything that has to do with core because as women we really need to keep our cores strong."
*Consider Dance a Great Workout
"We did a beautiful ballet workout during one episode with Natalie Portman's trainer for the year before she did 'Black Swan,'" she says. "She also focused on core and abs and getting your butt tight, which is what we all want."
*Yes, There is a Secret to Getting Your Butt Tight
"Do try ballet moves," Kym says. "They really pull up your muscles. Don't add too much weight to your workout, but focus on your butt and the back of your legs."
She adds, "When I did this ballet workout, I even felt my butt and thighs!"
*Train with the Guys
"I did a workout with Dolph Lundgren who showed me 'The Expendables Workout' or how he got ready for the movie," Kym says. "We did a bit of kickboxing together, which proves that it's fun to workout with your man and do some of what they do in the gym. Challenge yourself in this way!"
By the way, did she kick Dolph's butt.
"I could have taken him, but I let him off!" she says.
*Challenge Yourself.
"The cross fit workout we did was quite difficult," she says. "I like to be challenged even if it makes me really tired. You want to do something that takes you to the next level.
"If it sounds reasonable, I'll make myself do it and I'm glad I met the challenge," she says.
*Her Routine Is Fun
"When 'Dancing with the Stars' is on, I don't have much time to do anything else," she admits. "I do have a kettle bell with me. I have a little gym in my hotel room and always do crunches before I go to bed. I'll do 20 or 30 of them.
"I think the key to fitness is to do something every single day," she says. "Go outside and take a walk. Dancing is a great workout. It burns a lot of calories."
*Watch What You Eat
"I do eat healthy portions and control is key," she says.
Yes, she has dessert.
"I have a sweet tooth," she says. "But the truth is I don't do too much sugar. I think if you workout at least three times a week then you don't have to sacrifice too much of what you like to eat."
*And We Do Have Time for a Beauty Tip. Or two.
Kym is known for her gorgeous hair. Her tips? "I normally do a leave in conditioner twice a week. I try to let my hair air dry most of the time,' she says. "My hair goes through so much on TV.
"My other beauty tip is to always take your makeup off at night. You'll feel much better when you wake up.
"Raccoon eyes are not a good look!"
