I haven't taken the Botox or filler plunge just yet, so I have to rely on makeup tricks to get rid of those annoying fine lines around my mouth.
Because I like to wear lip gloss instead of lipstick, I've found that it has a way of feathering into those vertical lines around my top lips.
If you've had this happen, too, try one of my favorite made-up beauty tips to get rid of these lines.
I use several different products to combat these lines.
First, find a good matte primer. I like Revitaliash's silky primer (mine's a sample, retails for $60.) I also use this primer on my eyelids and under my eyes, but I especially like a swoop of it above my top lip to get rid of lines.
Next, put foundation on top, if you wear that (I do — recommend something lightweight like Dior's Airflash, which is flawless when applied with a good makeup brush.)
Third, I use a nifty product called Reverse Lipliner from Cargo ($16, I bought mine at Ulta.com) This innovative liner is flesh-toned and made just for lipgloss. Just outline outside your lip area — and then I like to use my finger to blend a bit to get rid of harsh edges — and fill in with lip gloss.
The result? Natural-looking lips with the softness of lipgloss and less visible fine lines.
