Matthew McConaughey has a supportive wife. A very supportive one.
During the scenes when he takes it off (almost all) off in the hit film "Magic Mike," his future wife Camilla wasn't a bit jealous.
Sure, 300 screaming extras were egging her future hubby on.
"My wife was there for my stripping scene," says the good natured Texan over breakfast in Beverly Hills at the Four Seasons Hotel. Matthew arrives in jeans, a t-shirt and looking movie star handsome.
"She's the one who gave me a big thumbs up and said, 'Go for it, baby!" he says with a laugh.
Now, she's going for it with baby number 3 on the way. (More on kids in a minute!)
In "Magic Mike," McConaughey plays Dallas, the industrious owner of an all-male strip club in Tampa. Each night the ladies gather to watch a group of hunks dance it all off.
It's no secret that in his 40s, McConaughey has an amazingly toned body. He can always been seen in the magazines shirtless running down the beach for his daily workout.
In fact, being in such great shape paid off for "Magic Mike." The extras actually started ripping at his very skimpy costume. "I'm quick and I can duck and roll," he says with a laugh.
Of course, they were also "concerned for him."
"The women in the strip club audience scenes were crazy during the dances. Then they became motherly when Steven (Soderberg) called cut. I'd hear, 'That was a good one. You did great with that one move. Do you need to sit down? Do you need a bottle of water?'" McConaughey says with a wide smile.
MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY ON DANCING
McConaughey says he was very nervous to do a scene where he dances out of his clothes.
"It was one of the larger leaps of faith," he says with a laugh.
"I was very nervous. Before going out on stage to dance I was nervous. Even if I wasn't taking my clothes off, I'd be nervous.
"Knowing I had to strip down was very nerve wracking," he says.
"But after doing it once, I wanted to get up there and do it again and again," he says. "It was a lot of fun."
MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY ON BABIES
Director Steven Soderbergh says, "These guys were diligent on the set. They ate rabbit food."
Matthew says his health secrets are simple.
"It's about getting out there and enjoying the fresh air and feeling good," he says of his body. "I want to feel good, so I try to do something physical as often as possible. It's just as good of a workout running after little children."
He's a homebody who loves his quiet life with his designer, model wife Camila Alves. They just announced this week that baby number three is on the way to join son Levi and daughter Vida.
What is the secret of a great relationship? He goes back to what his father told him about a good marriage.
"I didn't have a birds and bees talk with my father. He sat me down and had a serious talk with me about what it means to respect a woman. My father says that's the key to having a healthy relationship and a happy life," says McConaughey.
He proposed last Christmas by making her wait to open her last gift. "I wrapped it in seven different boxes so Camila would have to keep unwrapping," he says.
He followed that by getting down on one knee.
Yes, he is a romantic guy.
"A great date night for us involves food. I'm cooking," he says. "You try to cook as slowly as possible because then you can have another glass of wine. The later the food comes on the better it tastes because you're really hungry," he says.
As for their wedding...well, he's a softie when he talks about it
"I lost it," he says of when beauty Alves walked down the aisle of their Texas home. "The music came up and she walked in and I started to cry. It was one of the best moments of my entire life."
Alves, who models, hosts TV shows and has a designer purse line, says that her husband is very supportive.
"Matthew is 100 percent supportive of what I want to do and vice versa,' says the soft-spoken Alves in a separate interview. "We are a family, which is the most important thing.
"Our goal is to live our life as naturally as possible - just like any other family," she says. "It's a good, solid life for us."
No, McConaughey doesn't live in a trailer anymore. For a few years during his single life, McConaughey touted the joys of moving around the country and living in his deluxe motor home.
"We have a home now, plus three trailers," he says with a laugh. "The idea is you have a home base, but you're also able to travel if the bug bites. You can move swiftly if you tire of a place. All of us just move and go. It's just more cluttered with all the toys and baby things."
