Patricia Heaton's New Haircut

Patricia Heaton before and after her latest haircut.

What a difference a few weeks make.

On June 7, 53-year-old Patricia Heaton ("Everybody Loves Raymond" and "The Middle") appeared with a drab bob that made her reddish-brown locks look lifeless.

Then on June 20 she showed up with this spunky little cut, which is a bit reminiscent of the cut Sharon Osbourne favors.

It seems that the prevailing thought in Hollywood is that longer hair makes an actress look younger. But this example of Patricia Heaton's makeover should help change that opinion.

One of the things that makes this type of haircut really pop: long bangs that swoop down on the side (which are similar in Jenna Elfman's new haircut, too.) This makes the cut work for most face shapes, including round faces.

Another great thing about Patricia Heaton's new style is the rich reddish-brown color. Rick Wellmam, colorist for the Patrick Melville Salon in New York City said that brunette works best if you have a dark base and dark eyes (which Patricia does.)

...and another star loses her sexy in the name of fashion. Sorry Patricia but you no longer fit in my dream femme club.

Yes, her "after" is more flattering, but I don't care. When she went on the air to advocate in favor of keeping that poor brain dead woman alive I lost all respect for her.

Only women think this looks good. It ages her. She needs a new stylist. The problem with all these supposed "over 40" haircuts is they have no movement. They are too fussy, too styled, with fake looking color. This is my idea of a great haircut if you want to go short: http://lesirreguliers.unblog.fr/files/2010/04/6gc9dmz6.jpg

I agree. I don't think it's becoming. It looks dated and like its trying too hard to look hip and youthful when everyone universally associates the look with fat grandmas.

The haircut in your link is HIDEOUS!! I do hair for a living and this cut is definitely borderline mullet!!! Ugh!! If anyone came to me and requested the haircut in your link, I'd do my professional best to talk them out of it!! Patricia Heaton looks MUCH better in her Sharon Osbourne inspired cut!! Bravo Patricia for having the girlnads to go for it!!
