At the recent Dior couture show in Paris, the models were wearing sleek pixie cut styles.
Pixie hair cuts are – of course – a timeless look, but so many celebrities like Jamie Lee Curtis, Anne Hathaway and Michelle Williams are making pixies the most wanted of new short hair styles.
The models on Dior's runway were wearing wigs to look like crops, which is not a bad idea if you want to try out the look on yourself before taking the plunge.
The great thing about pixies over 40 is that it's a cut that looks perfect for gray hair, too.
Pixies can even be styled in different ways, from wearing it sleek (like at the Dior show) to having more volume, bangs down, bangs to the side, etc.
One of the benefits of going short in middle age is that longer hair can sometimes drag down your features; shorter hair can bring the focus up to your eyes and lift your entire face. Just see what short pixie cuts styles did for Cindy McCain and Patricia Heaton.
About the only disadvantage to cutting your hair this short? Pixie hair cuts can be difficult to grow out gracefully.
