He has a slew of multi-platinum CDs under his silver belt buckle, but Tim McGraw still doesn't have a clue about putting together an outfit.

Faith Hill's handsome hubby doesn't need to worry. He has four stylists living with him including his superstar wife, Faith Hill, and their three daughters, Grace Katherine, 14, Maggie Elizabeth, 13, and Audrey Caroline, 10.

His girls are the official Fashion Police.

"The other night, the girls wouldn't let me out of the house," McGraw tells me. "They looked at each other and said 'Daddy, you're absolutely NOT wearing that!'"

"What's the matter with nice clean khaki's?" the man under the cowboy hat asks.

Technically speaking, khaki's are okay, but….

"One of the girls said, 'You just look too much like a Dad,'" he says with a hearty laugh. "I was told, 'Put on some cool jeans.'"

It's hard for female fans to argue with those McGraw girls.

LIFE IN THE ESTROGEN ZONE

McGraw, who combines music with movies such as "The Blind Side" and "Flicka" gets a lot of style lessons in his Nashville house with his wife and daughters.

"My household is basically me and a whole group of women. And I've learned one secret," says McGraw who talks to me at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills on a weekday afternoon.

He looks splendid in worn jeans, a white T-shirt and with his trademark cowboy hat on his head.

So what is that secret?

"Guys should just shut up about style stuff," he says with a whoop. "We can never win. I don't even try to win. If you live with all women and just break even by saying, 'What do you want me to wear' then you're really ahead of the game."

LOVING GORGEOUS FAITH

The GQ handsome country superstar McGraw first met Hill when she was his back-up singer. They got their first glance of each other at a Nashville event.

"I knew she was The One the first time I saw a picture of her feet," he says. "She has gorgeous feet."

"When we finally met, it was magic. There was nothing else we could do about it but fall in love," McGraw says.

Yes, they fight now and then, but the point is to fix it – asap.

"There will be fights, but you have to be fair in life. The hardest thing in life is to say, 'I was wrong.' I also think that when you're fighting with someone you love you throw up the stop sign. You don't head too far down that road."

Ask him why it works and he says, "I think it's the way we were raised. We were raised by salt of the earth people who take marriage seriously."

MCGRAW, THE DADDY

He's a softie, but McGraw isn't a pushover as a Dad.

"I think in real life, you have to be strict, especially when you have girls. You can't be their friend. You're supposed to be their parent.

"I'm very strict about homework and I throw the hammer down. No TV. No friends. You gotta do your homework," he says.

"Faith and I make sure to do the team thing. We back each other up with the girls – even if we know the other adult is wrong. If you're not together through everything then all hell breaks out in the house," he says.

McGraw says he can't face his kids dating or getting older.

"It's amazing. You want to protect them and you never want the girls to leave home," McGraw says. "I don't even care if they ever get a job.

"They could stay with us forever. Even when they get married, everyone can just come live with Faith and me," he says with a laugh.

"Then again, they're not dating until I'm dead," McGraw says. "There is no such thing as a nice guy. I was a nice, clean-cut guy and I wasn't that nice."

LIFE ON THE RANCH

The McGraws own a farm in Tennessee where he stays in shape by hanging out outdoors.

"I grew up on horses, which keeps me in shape," he says. "I spend a couple of hours on stage, so I really do need to be active. But I give myself a break. I'll go through cycles when I'm not working out and I take it easy. I think you have to rest, too."

Most of the time, his life in Nashville is an active one.

"We ride around on four-wheelers. We have dogs and fishing ponds," McGraw says. "The farm is the only place where I don't shut up. I can whoop it up. And the girls listen. Otherwise, they don't listen to my bullshit."

And his wife?

"Faith is so awesome," says the football fan who adds in a loving voice, "I way out punted my coverage."
