At 51, Heather Locklear looks fabulous. And she likes to show it off in sexy skirts like this short miniskirt.
But is over 50 too old to wear a micro miniskirt, even if you still have the body to wear it?
This is one of the most hotly contested fashion vs. age issues out there.
Mature fans of the mini over a certain age insist that "If you've still got it, flaunt it." Critics say that over 40 is too old for super short skirts.
And we're not talking just above-the-knee length, but short like Heather is wearing – mid-thigh or higher.
Fashion experts, like "What Not to Wear" spout common wisdom on the subject as being "No miniskirts over 35."
I'm not sure I agree with this limitation because 40 is the new 30. Gwyneth Paltrow is 40 as is Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz: they can all wear really short skirts well.
Fifty on the other hand, is the new frontier. What can we wear at 50?
Is it OK to wear a skirt almost as short as your 15-year-old daughter, like Heather is doing on the red carpet? If you've still got it should you flaunt it or does trying to dress too young make you look older?
At what point should we shelve the micromini and give up sexy short miniskirts?
Tell me what you think about this!
