Want anti aging skin tips? Natural beauty secrets? Look no further.
His tips cover everything from skin issues to back pain. He also has beauty tips that make perfect sense, but you probably aren't doing…yet.
I asked him: How can midlifers look younger without shots, filler or plastic surgery?
"To protect the skin and keep it from drying up and wrinkling, it's helpful to provide nourishment and moisture to the body," says Yogi Cameron, a former supermodel, host of Veira Living's "A Model Guru," spiritual Ayurveda healer, and bestselling author of "The Guru in You."
"This can happen by drizzling natural oils like olive oil, sesame oil and ghee onto your food," he says.
"I'd also like you to apply a thin layer of warm sesame oil to the skin," he says. "You also must follow a regular sleep routine each night. This way you will protect the skin from the outer elements and moisturize from within."
As his book debuts today, Yogi Cameron sat down with StyleGoesStrong to give us beauty, de-stressing and life tips for midlers:
Explain what The One Plan is? How can it help women in their '40s?
Yogi Cameron Says:
"It can be very difficult to alter one's lifestyle, especially after living a certain way one's whole life. The One Plan is a yearlong program of incremental change that utilizes the ancient teachings of Yoga and Ayurveda to help you to create a new lifestyle. Since it only requires you to add a little bit at a time each week of the program, you never overwhelm yourself or your way of life—and yet you will see significant changes in the first two weeks alone.
What are your best life tips for women over 40?
Yogi Cameron Says:
"Value your experiences. What you know now is a lot more important than what you or other people think about your appearance. Find ways to utilize and apply your knowledge in new and creative ways.
Seek new challenges. It is common for people to establish themselves through hard work in their early life and then coast through their later years trying to be as comfortable as possible. Too much comfort leads to a lack of growth, so find a new career or new interests to pursue.
Seek contentment from within. Your greatest source of contentment and peace is that which you will find within yourself. This is where your greatest beauty has and always will lie. Commit to a daily practice and begin to find this peace inside of yourself."
What are your best healthy living changes for women over 40 to make now?
Yogi Cameron Says:
"Ayurveda teaches us that as we enter late middle age, our bodies will begin to enter a stage predisposed to dryness and an increase in the air element. This creates wrinkly skin, brittle bones, and compromised joints. Favor the use of natural oils applied to your skin and consumed with your food to nourish your body and counter this change."
What are your tips to ease skin rashes?
Yogi Cameron Says:
"Ayurveda teaches us that skin rashes are often the result of excessive heat in the body that have found their way to the surface—much like heat boils to the surface in a pot of water on the stove. This heat can be cooled down both on the inside and the outside of the body. Ways to cool down the body include:
*Use cooling substances on the skin like aloe vera and coconut oil.
*Practice cooling/calming yoga postures like child's pose and hero's pose
*Avoid spicy foods, sour foods (pickles, yogurt), and animal proteins, as these can create heat in the body.
Tell us about your diet.
Yogi Cameron Says:
"My diet is seasonal, natural fresh foods mixed according to what my body needs in the moment. Each day is different—as is each moment—so my diet and what I drink changes according to my thoughts and whatever activities I am participating in.
If I'm particularly active and moving around a lot, I eat more cooked, grounding foods. If I'm more stationary, I may eat foods that build some heat and keep my energy moving. The body reacts to what our minds are going through so we need to adjust our diet by being aware of thoughts."
