Did you feel the Earth move? Or more accurately, do you want to move it?
Seems like women are gathering in groups all over the place lately to figure out how the power of feminine energy can do the world a whole lot of good.
There was Tina Brown of the Daily Beast with her Women in the World summit, organized to help promote economic empowerment for women; the White House Project and its EPIC awards focus on helping women be leaders on a local and national scale; even Geena Davis and her intiative to make the female presence more present in media belongs in this trend.
Now, the weeklong Inspiring Women Summit seeks to help women focus their energies as engines for change on a global level, coming from a feminine perspective — with cooperation and sourcing from the heart. Since we represent over the half the population now, it's probably a good idea to figure this out.
Thanks to modern technology, all 52 inspiring women and 16 seminars are accessible for free by phone, especially if you have Skype or unlimited cell-phone minutes. But even if not, you can catch the recorded "meetings" on your computer later, on your own time.
The summit begins on May 1, also known as Beltane in ancient cultures, a day of purification and transition. Women involved include best-selling author Marianne Williamson who kicks off the conference in a discussion about how to evolve the world by leading a feminine way.
Long-time PBS fave Dr. Christiane Northrop, who wrote Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom will be on hand on Monday to discuss how joy is linked to our health and well-being.
Other sessions include how women can work together to make a bigger impact; how to use our values to shape our vision for the future in society and media; and how to lead more fulfilling lives and have deeper relationships. Even entrepreneurship from a female perspective is covered.
Some pretty amazing subjects to explore, especially for free. I remember hearing Barbara Marx Hubbard (not involved with this summit) say
When a woman has no more eggs after 50, she becomes the egg."
It's an interesting concept. She went on to explain that it is our instinct to mother and nurture the world around us.
There are a number of ways to participate in the 8-day summit; check out the website for the speaker schedule and to see if it's something you might be interested in. There's also a Facebook group (did you know that mature women are the fastest growing group on Facebook?).
Shine your light where it glows best.
