4. Bad Hair and Makeup

Why bad holiday hair and makeup make you look older: A stiff updo and heavy makeup may seem like a good idea, but overdoing it in the dress-up department can make you look years older. Instead of an elaborate updo, opt instead for something more modern like a half-up/half-down hairstyle. And instead of heavily lined eyes (too '90s) try softly smokey eyes which are achieved by using a small brush and powder instead of gloppy eyeliner.
