Every season, designers borrow liberally from the past to attempt to spur on new trends. This Fashion Week everything from gauchos to mauve made a reappearance. Has everyone forgotten that there were very good reasons these styles went kaput in the first place?

3. Mauve

If you were a bridesmaid in the '80s — or did any home decorating at all — you are all too familiar with that muddy pink color called mauve. Although mauve has stayed mostly absent from fashion since that time, it popped back up this season on the runway of Badgley Mischka. Can forest green be far behind?
