At the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute’s annual gala, often called the “party of the year” fashionwise anyway, the older crowed wowed. Many of our contemporaries were clad in shimmering metallics, while others echoed the rooms of the exhibit: American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity.

Donna Karan

American designer Donna Karan reaches back to humanity's Hellenic roots to fashion an asymmetrical gown reminiscent of a Greek goddess. This design would look right at home in the Screen Siren room of the Costume Institute exhibit. Karan also continues the burnished bronze trend.
