Belles of the Met Museum Ball

At the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute’s annual gala, often called the “party of the year” fashionwise anyway, the older crowed wowed. Many of our contemporaries were clad in shimmering metallics, while others echoed the rooms of the exhibit: American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity.

Sarah Jessica Parker

It makes sense to lead with Sarah Jessica Parker in our round-up of gowns worn at the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute annual gala. Their new exhibit: American Women: Fashioning a National Identity, has an audio tour that is narrated by the actress and acknowledged fashionista.

Thanks to her years as Carrie Bradshaw, narrating the fashion and foibles of the Sex and the City girls, it's a familiar and appropriate voice to accompany the journey.

She underscored her participation by appearing all aglow in a shimmering Halston Heritage gown that she reportedly helped design! And made beauty trends lists with her burnished bronze look.
