Amy Poehler's sort of Star-Treky crew neck outshines Melissa McCarthy's indigo (although she took home the Emmyfor Mike & Molly); Katie Holmes looks subdued in colbalt, and Claire Danes got panned by the fashion police for "too much going on" in this Oscar de la Renta according to Jenny Fleiss (whom I'd just seen at the WIE Symposium earlier in the day). Fleiss launched Rent the Runway, a website where you can borrow red carpet fashions for a one-off event — in case your ball gown is at the cleaners.
