1940s: Coco Chanel

Gabrielle Bonheur "Coco" Chanel was born in 1883. Here she's a little older than 65, which she would have been in 1948 — this image is from the early 50s. She lived to be 88.

But obvioulsy they had hair dye back then. This is a varied and eclectic montage of what 65 has looked like through the years, & not just celebrities but homemakers, suffragettes, engineers and energy workers. Hope you find it illuminating!
