1960s: Clare Boothe Luce

First a playwright, editor, journalist, and satirist, married to publisher Henry Booth Luce; then ambassador to Italy and U.S. Congresswoman from Connecticut, Clare Boothe Luce, born in 1903, turned 65 in 1967. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1983.
