Channnel Surfing

On the heels of writing about Diana Nyad's dream, sparked by turning 60, to swim from Cuba to Florida, I heard that Richard Branson had taken the plunge to kite surf the English Channel to mark his 60th celebration (actual birthday: July 18, 1950). Weather conditions prevented success (I bristle at the word 'fail' and I bet he does too), but he seems like a man who knows there's a certain success in the attempt itself. We like that style!
