Scent of Hapshetsuh

I've been a fan of pharoh-queen Hapshetsuh's (not pictured; she looks a little unappealing at present) ever since I saw a segment about her on the History channel, years ago, before Ice Road Truckers, when they still did history.

She may have kicked off the menswear trend for women, donning as she did, a beard — obviously It's Not Easy Being Queen, even back in 15th century BC. (Queen Elizabeth referred to herself as a prince).

Hapshetsuh's legacy — apart from being a real woman who at 50 was overweight with thinning hair — includes a relatively recent relic, her perfume bottle. Scientists think there may even be enough residue to recreate her scent.

Lesson: Have a signature fragrance — it will linger long after you've left the room.

She also favored red & black nail polish so the bright, bold colors of Illamasqua would probably appeal to her.
