Francine Segan, with 6 cookbooksto her nameplus a new one on dessert recipes, decided one day she had to peel off the pounds. But how when you eat for a living! Here's how she lost over 70 pounds.
Now svelte and sexy at 56, speaker and cookbook author, Francine Seganhas to eat. "I test recipes several times to find the best one," she says. That means a lot of tasting. She'd noticed the pounds start to creep on in her late 40s "but not enough to do anything about it."
One day she went to the dentist. "'What are these lumps?' I asked him. I thought they had to do with my gums." His response: "'Sweetheart, that's called jowling; that's what happens over 50.'"
"It's a good thing you lose your eyesight over 50," she laughs, but says she made herself a deal. "I wanted to lose 10 pounds, and if I did that and didn't look any better, I'd explore having a facelift."
