There were a lot of trends on view at the 69th annual Golden Globe awards show -- did age and experience trump youth and boldness on the red carpet?

Frankly, "cute" does quite cut it. Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt fully qualify as Hollywood royalty at this point. And I don't care what anyone says, Angelina had the best dress of the evening.

Compared to other red carpet couples — Steven Spielberg & Kate Capshaw; Rob Lowe & his wife Sheryl Berkoff; even Guy Pearce & wife Kate Mestitz (whose back is covered in a colorful tattoo) who snuck in a lively smooch — Angelina Jolie, 36, and Brad Pitt, 48, positively glowed (so a half-and-half midlifer win).
