Women’s Clothing: Fearless Sleeveless Women

Layers are best for holiday dressing – dare to bare arms! Celebs and "real" women show off the power of the bare arm. Do you dare go sleeveless? If so, let me know!

Michelle Obama goes Sleeveless

Michelle Obama goes sleeveless -- a lot! So much has been written about the first lady's arms, it's silly to add more. A recent NY Times article has a funny midlife riff though: "The first lady has made it unacceptable for women to appear in public with covered arms. However innocently, however unwittingly, .... Those bare, toned, elegant arms of hers have spawned an epidemic of sleevelessness, exposing arms, arms, arms, and not all of them toned and elegant."

Maybe not, but a column I just did that began with the Dove Sleeveless campaign made me realize sleeveless is the way to go this holiday season. Why? Layers! It's hot in the kitchen, and sometimes, everywhere else.

I also wanted to celebrate the women who are unafraid to go sleeveless over 40, 50 and beyond. And not just celebrities. So interspersed with the usual subjects is a sneak peek of a new section I'm starting called Visible Woman. Take a look.
