It took a few months, but the answer to a column I posted: “Should Models Look Like You?” is a resounding Yes. A Cambridge dissertation surveyed over 3,000 women to confirm what may be obvious to you & me; here a few over-50 models which bear out the results, with a few weighing in on the topic.

Andie MacDowell

L'Oreal has shown perspicacity and foresight in getting, and keeping, 52-year-old model Andie MacDowell as the face and spokesperson  for their hair color, makeup and anti-aging creams.

Although the article does say: "The question of age is also interesting, although it's rare to see older models outside of skin care ads."

But it has to start somewhere... and if the trend began to change with makeup and skincare ads, where buyers were vocal about anti-wrinkle creams being shown on 22-year-olds, then great.
