I am the queen of multitasking, doing things like answering emails while I walk for exercise or chatting on the phone while folding laundry. You're a woman, you know how it is.

Remember laying down on your bed to squeeze into tight jeans?

Those days of squeezing into skin-tight denim are long gone. But it's not because we aren't still wearing slim-cut jeans (we are!), it's just that technology has given us fabulous denim that can fit like a glove and still feel like you're wearing a comfy knit.

Take, for example, jeggings. These jean/legging hybrids have been trendy in the contemporary arena for several seasons, and are just now trickling down to retailers like Chico's who make clothing for grown-ups.

When designers like Versace and Dolce & Gabbana – both known for sexy short styles – embrace the longer skirt, you know it's here to stay for a while.

Hemlines have been creeping floor-ward for a while, first with the trendy print maxi dresses for daytime and now with longer skirts for fall.  And this is a trend that looks to continue because the Spring 2011runways from all over the world are full of longer skirt lengths.

All of this is great news for us over 40 girls who want to wear skirts, but hate the thought of wearing something too short.

I love it when just one piece can transform your entire look.

This season, that one piece is the fur vest, a look that works beautifully for our age group. During Fashion Week, I saw just about every variation of this look, from real fur to some great faux options.

Not only is this trend ageless, it can be found at just about every price point, with retailers from high end to discounters offering styles.
