Silver Sideburns

At 54, Andy Garcia sports the classic 'graying at the temples' look — always in style.

But the genesis of this gallery was a reader comment: "How about an expose on the sideburns situation. I never know where to clip mine off. I start pretty low, but they are never even, and each time I try and even them out they just get shorter and shorter. I used to actually tie a loop of string around my ears and over my face so I had a line to even them out against."

Hmmm, that sounds complicated. So I turned to Diane Wood, Master Barber for King of Shaves, for some definitive answers on what to do:

¢Trim sideburns so they are even with each other and ignore your ears. Everyone's ears are off balance, so trimming sideburns even with the ears will make them lopsided.
